2. One of the biggest differences between my High School last year and “Zoom University” is the interactions I use to have with my teachers and fellow classmates. It is nice though not having to be “at school all day” or connected to my computer all day. I can kind of get things done when I have the time as long as it is before the due date. That makes it really helpful with work and other activities. I have to say I really miss in person class because I enjoy interacting with people. Zoom University and my old high school are still similar in the sense that you are still learning and having lectures.

3. Some of the differences between Animal Crossing and a social media platform like Instagram is that Animal Crossing is an actual world. You can see and interact like this is the world you actually see. By being in a world it makes it so that you feel more invested when meeting people. You aren’t just sending a text or picture. Your characters actually interact when they meet which gives a stronger connection. I feel like there is a playfulness that is added to Animal Crossing compared to Instagram. These apps are very different but they are similar in the way that they are both apps that people from anywhere can interact and communicate.

4. If you were to compare a physical place to Animal Crossing I would say that they are hard to compare. On one hand you get to do similar things to real life in a virtual world and have a fun place to express yourself. On the other hand there isn’t as much freedom to do and say what you want compared to the physical world. I think that being in a physical world tops being in a virtual world. I just really enjoy human interaction so I feel like a virtual world would never top the physical one for me.

5. Even thought the virtual world is not for me, I could see how people could love and thrive in one. The idea of place does not have to be a physical one. It can be virtual, it really depends on the person. A person can find a space where they feel comfortable or that they feel like they belong on the internet. I feel like it is possible to find a place experience during some degree of Pandemic isolation. There are so many different forms of virtual reality that anyone could find something where they can have an experience.

6. I would say that Facebook and Instagram are not MMORPGs. I would say they aren’t because you aren’t playing a role, at least most people aren’t. I feel like to consider something an MMORPG it has to have someone shown through a role or avatar. That is the character you play and with Instagram or Facebook you are displaying your life not a character.

7. Real life itself, is more similar to a MMORPG, to me. I feel that we are all interacting trying to get through life, going through different experiences. I think that MMORPGs and based off of life, but enhanced and better, and so that is what makes them so similar to each other.
