Micol Herbon is an intermedia artist and she deals with a lot of feminist issues through art. A lot of her focus is on the fairness between men and woman in society. For instance, she is focused on one project where where she is comparing male nipples to female nipples, where they are the same but society says that one gender is allowed ton she it. Joseph DeLapppe is now living in Scotland where he moved in early 2017. He is big on digital art and games as a way to express his ideas about military wrongs and also partakes in sculpting and drawing. He is very well known and has been recognized all over the world.

Micol Herbon’s work is very bold with bright colors and bold strong lines. These bold lines block out what she wants to show and making it pop off of the page giving more life to the piece. Most of her work is surrounded around woman, whether she is painting a woman or the model is a woman. There is almost always a woman involved. In Joseph DeLappe’s work it is very centralized with technology. I would say the idea or something that symbolizes technology is included it a lot of his many different styles of pieces. In his sculptures have very sharp edges and lines that give it a look of almost being digital and pixeled. These two artist have a very different style and ideas that they tend to represent in their art.

Micol Herbon’s bold lines and strong colors portrays a strong and powerful woman. Women are very undermined in everyday life and having those strong lines and bold, bright colors radiates the strength that woman really have. The power they can have and it inspires other women to embrace that power and take it back. Joseph DeLappe’s work seems to focus on hard subjects. I noticed that he has a lot of pieces related to the military. The rough and sharp lines in his sculptures give a feeling of something kind of risky and strong.

Since I am a woman I could relate to Micol Herbon more and have more feeling behind what I was looking at. I really loved how Joseph DeLapppe could involve some type of technology in his multiple art piece. It was kind of like he was combining the old with the new. They both are very inspirational.
